The Human Rights Concerts featured musicians such as Sting, The Police, Peter Gabriel, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Radiohead, Joan Baez, and many others. Over 1,250,000 people around the world attended these concerts in person, and millions more experienced them on television and radio. This series of 28 rock concerts presented worldwide between1986-1998 raised funds for and awareness of Amnesty International worldwide.
This photograph was taken during one of the Conspiracy of Hope concerts. This US tour spanned six concerts over a ten-day period in June 1986.
